about ELZBIETA
Elżbieta, or “Dr. Ella”, was born and raised in Zielona-Góra, Poland. Her earliest performances came at 4 years of age when she held concerts for her parents using a keyboard she had constructed from re-used paper bags and watercolors, mimicking the notes with her voice.
Recognizing her incendiary passion for music, Elżbieta’s parents enrolled her in a rigorous music program, which eventually led to her acceptance into the prestigious Frederyk Chopin University in Warsaw at the age of 19. During this time Elżbieta studied with world-renowned pianists and educators such as Branisław Kawalla, Jan Ekier, Lev Naumov, Bruno Rigutto, Claude Helfer and others. Graduating with honors while receiving a Master of Arts performance degree in piano, harpsicord and organ, Elżbieta was awarded a full scholarship and grant to continue her studies as a performer and accompanist in the contemporary classical genres in Paris under the mentorship of Dr. Marie-Françoise Bouquet.
In pursuit of her passion to share her knowledge and love of music and piano, Elżbieta relocated to Norway, earning her second Master’s Degree in Music Education, after which she taught university level performance, music theory and history for 19 years. To satisfy her love for performance, she toured with several chamber music ensembles, performed with orchestras and recorded for NRK Norwegian Broadcasting, LAWO Music and Polish Television.
In 2022 she received a PhD in the field of Musical Arts from F. Chopin University in Warsaw presenting her doctoral dissertation entitled “The polyphonic techniques of Paul Hindemith.
Elżbieta recently relocated to Altadena in Los Angeles county, California where she is relishing the opportunity to bring her teaching and performance skills to a broader audience.
